About Revolution Twenty 20 :

Revolution 2020 is a gripping story of love, the corrupt educational system and clashing ambitions. In Revolution Twenty20, Chetan Bhagat explores the lives of three close friends from Varanasi, set against the backdrop of India's corrupt political system.Three main character in the novel like Gopal, Raghav and Aarti. Gopal and Raghav are the best of friends. Although they hail from completely different family backgrounds they share a common passion for success and realising their dreams in life. Gopal's family has been caught up in a never-ending property dispute and he aspires to come out of the mess and amass a lot of wealth, Raghav, on the other hand, desires to bring about a revolution in the system and do something significant for the society.

Their lives take a surprising turn when both of them fall in love with their mutual friend, Aarti. Gopal gives in to the corrupt system but Raghav tries to set things right. This situation turns the friends against each other.

Will Raghav be successful in bringing about a social change or will he succumb to his desires like Gopal? Who will Aarti choose to spend the rest of her life with? Revolution Twenty20 will make for a riveting read for all Chetan Bhagat fans.

Here, we have discussed some point of the novel :

1) If you were to adapt this novel for the screen, what sort of changes you would make in the story and characters to make it better than the novel?

If I will adapt this novel  I make changes in the narrative technique of the novel. Because Chetan Bhagat has using this narrative technique in many   novels, it is now familiar to people. So I would like to try to change another type technique.  I use a technique where Raghav, Aarti and Gopal all telling story with their perspective. So we can get an idea about the thinking of these three major characters of the novel and also I would also like to include 1or 2 more characters.

The character of Aarti is doubtable in the novel. So I will make it stronger and more reliable.I will also like changes on the theme of Revolution make  stronger than the theme of love. Ending of the novel with positive changes.

2)' For a true revolutionist, the novel is terribly disappointing.' Do you agree? If yes, what sort of changes would you make in character or situation to make it a perfect revolutionary novel? If you disagree, what is in the novel that you are satisfied with?

Yes, I am strongly agree with this statement.Because as we know the novel focuses on love rather than revolution.

When we see the title  of the novel  "Revolution Twenty20" that time we realize the novel is based on revolution. But  we read the novel we can see that the novel more focusing  on the love theme rather than revolution. Than , I would like to change that the novel more focusing on  Revolution rather than love.Raghav's character represents revolution. He wanted to change society through revolution.

At the end of the novel , we can see  the Raghav and Aarti got a marriage .Than I will changes that the end  after marriage Raghav engaged in politics and he trying for  removed corruption and make a good country. Every people living happily in the country. The system of corruption has changed by Raghav in the novel.

3) 'For a feminist reader, Aarti is a sheer disappointing character.' Do you agree with this statement? If yes, what sort of characteristics you would like to see in Aarti. If you disagree with this statement, why? What is it in Aarti that you are satisfied with this character?

Yes , I agree with 'For a feminist reader, Aarti is a sheer disappointing character' statement .

In the novel  'Revolution Twenty20' character of Aarti presented as a week or sheer disappointing character. Because Aarti was not sure about her life that what she wants in her life. She has no idea about what she can do in future.

Firstly , she attracted toward Raghav because Raghav was clear exam and got a good rank. Gopal was week compared to Raghav. But after that Gopal became more successful compared to Raghav than she attracted toward Gopal and make relation with him. When she real see Gopal with two Girls than she rejected him.

At the end of the novel she married with Raghav. At that time we can see character of Aarti is disappointing character in the novel.

I would like to see Aarti as a strong character in the novel.

Thank you....
