Thinking Activity:Final Solution
Hello Readers,
This blog is part of my classroom thinking activity. This activity given by Vaidehi Mam . In this blog I have discuss some question - answer .
First of all throw some light on Final Solution ;
About Final Solution :
The play Final Solutions, written by Mahesh Dattani discusses the theme of communal riots, hatred and bitterness of Hindus and Muslims against each other. The plot is set in Gujarat. The communal hatred is at peak. It can be seen when we find Hindu mob chasing Javed and Bobby after knowing that they are Muslims. The topic of Mahesh Dattani 's Final Solutions is social authority. Last Solutions breaks down how certain gatherings needed to endure on account of other dominant part gatherings. Here we see that also Mahesh Dattani comes in the classification of scholars who champion the reason for genuine art– free from any hypothesis, general in taste and flavor, engaging all segments of society, never bound to any station, class and statement of faith.So, throughout the play, we find ample of problems and the playwright has not given any solution. Instead, he has let the audience to decide. Hence, the final solutions are, in real, no solutions to these communal problems. the topic of mahesh dattani 's final solutions is social authority. last solutions breaks down how certain gatherings needed to endure on account of other dominant part gatherings. here we see that also mahesh dattani comes in the classification of scholars who champion the reason for genuine art– free from any hypothesis, general in taste and flavor, engaging all segments of society, never bound to any station, class and statement of faith.so, throughout the play, we find ample of problems and the playwright has not given any solution. instead, he has let the audience to decide. hence, the final solutions are, in real, no solutions to these communal problems.
Let's we have discuss Questions- answers:
1) What is the difference between the movie and the play?
In The Final solution movie and play , I have find some little different . The play and the movie are parralel to the plot, But still if we look at the difference between original play "Final Solution" and the movie directed by Mahesh Dattani himself has slightly differences.
At the very beginning of the play it is a diary which tells story of past and present of Daksha or Hardika. While if we look at the movie there was the chair used instead of diary. this dairy represented of the past and present. And these both things symbolise as the medium of expression of Daksha.
2) Do you think the movie is helpful to understand the viewpoints of different characters?
Yes, Because in the play both character are represented different perspective.They all represent the different kind of their thinking and that's why when we read the play we also felt that kind of conflict so it's difficult to understand all the characters So not properly all characters point of view. But after the watching movie I get the idea that how they all connected with each other and they all try to convince to listen their thinking.And both are comprised each other.
3) Think about the end of the movie? Do you think the director is faithful to the play?
The Final solution movie is very interesting and understanding . End of the movie is somewhere faithful to play. Original text also discussed the same story line and this movie adaptation also followed the original play.So movie and play are same story line. Mahesh Dattani comes in the classification of scholars who champion the reason for genuine art– free from any hypothesis, general in taste and flavor, engaging all segments of society, never bound to any station, class and statement of faith.
In this play, we find ample of problems and the playwright has not given any solution. But Solution is very important in the society. Instead, he has let the audience to decide. So, the final solutions are, in real, no solutions to these communal problems. We people need to know what makes us hate others.
Thank you ...
